The Bucket Test: A Simple Way to Check for Leaks

One of the first methods you can use to check for a leak is the Bucket Test. This simple test helps determine if the drop in your pool’s water level is due to evaporation or a leak. Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Fill a bucket with pool water and place it on the pool’s steps.
Step 2: Mark the water level inside the bucket and on the pool’s wall.
Step 3: After 24 hours, compare the water level inside the bucket with the pool’s water level.

If the water level drops more in the pool than in the bucket, you likely have a leak. While the bucket test is a great first step, it may not pinpoint the exact location of the leak, which is where our professional leak detection services come in.
